2010 Primary Fund Raiser

This year the league is purchasing one new set of catcher’s equipment for each team as well as striving to replace all regular season and Tournament team uniforms.  This is in addition to all our regular purchase of balls, gas, helmets, field maintenance equipment, trash pickup, electricity etc.  Our per player budget comes to almost $300.00 per player.  Registration fees cover only a small part of this cost.  Sponsors and concessions income covers another portion.  The fourth leg of league income is our ONE player generated fundraiser a year.  It is our largest contributor to the league’s budget.  This year we have set a goal of $15,000 from this fundraiser.

To achieve this goal, we will be holding a Raffle with several prizes to be given away on opening day this season. We have a grand prize of a $500 gas card a second prize of $250 gas card, and four third place cards of $50. Ticket prices will be $5.00 and it is suggested that each player try to sell a minimum of 20 tickets. Ticket sales will occur from the date of the first registrations through April 10, 2010. Similar fundraisers have been used in the past with exceptional results----the tickets almost sell themselves. For every 10 raffle tickets sold we, WBLL, will refund $5, up to the amount of registration fees paid. Please understand this does not relieve you of mandatory fund raising required should your daughter make the All Star team. Your participation in fundraising is what keeps the registration fees down for everyone.
